Over 160 would-be property buyers and home hunters, as well as a few well-known faces from ‘the telly’ attended last week’s Savills’ ‘Brighter Buyer’ event in Cork City.
Apart from the range of expert buyer information available, attractions included QS Lisa O’Brien, of Room to Improve TV exposure fame, advising on topics from home-snagging, to Government grants.
Also familiar from ‘the box’ was guest speaker, architect Hugh Wallace, a current judge on RTE’s Home of the Year, imparting advice on architecture, interior design and creating individual style.
The wider picture was sketched by Savills’ director of research, Dr John McCartney, who provided an over-view of the property market in Cork, while Angela Keegan, MD of myhome.ie led the panel of industry experts, covering first steps in the buying process, financing etc.
The night’s event was hosted by Savills’ Residential, introduced by Michael O’Donovan, with representatives from Waterman Engineering, JRAP O’Meara Solicitors, Jane Dennehy Interiors and mymortgages.ie.
Meanwhile, Thursday next sees a different Savills roadshow on stage in Cork city. The company is hosting a ‘Cork’s Got Talent’ night, March 14, in the Clayton Hotel, under the baton of estate agent and musician, Lawrence Sweeney.
Proceeds go to Enable Ireland, towards their new facility at Curraheen Road. MC on the night is KC from Cork’s 96 FM, with a panel of four celebrity judges and an audience voting app.
